Catherine Olds

LLB (Hons)

With 30 years’ experience in the legal industry, I have built a diverse and comprehensive career in both private practice and in-house roles in Auckland, Tauranga, and Rotorua. Starting as a legal secretary in 1995, I then registered as a legal executive, before advancing through the ranks and obtaining my law degree with honours through the University of Waikato.

Having gained valuable experience in both the practicalities and technicalities of law, I pride myself on being an approachable, solutions-focused commercial lawyer who takes the time to thoroughly understand each client’s needs and concerns before exploring the options to arrive at the best outcome.

Whether working with individuals, corporate entities or charitable organisations I am committed to providing prompt, value add, plain language legal services, tailored to each situation.  My areas of commercial law include:

  • Employment
  • Incorporated societies re-registering under the new Act
  • Contracts
  • Charitable trusts and board structures
  • Corporate and commercial law
  • Leading investigations, providing recommendations for next steps
  • Tenancy law
  • Policy for supporting compliance, structure and operations
  • Franchising
  • Dispute resolution and debt recovery
  • Regulatory compliance

Outside of work I am a keen cyclist, unable to decide which of road cycling, mountain biking, bike packing, or simply the coffee afterwards, I most prefer.

Get in touch, I would love to chat about your legal needs.
